The Federal Work Study Program provides jobs for students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to your course of study on the campus. Students may receive federal work study for a maximum of three years.
If you indicated federal work study as an option on your FAFSA, you will receive an email with instructions for completing the employment process.
If you did not indicate that you would like a federal work study award, please contact the Financial Aid Office so that we are able to place you on the wait list. These funds are limited and are awarded based on need and a first-in, first out order.
Your Federal Work Study wages will be at least the current federal minimum wage. Your total Federal Work Study award depends on when you apply, your level of need, and the funding level received by the college.
You will receive a paycheck once a month (on the tenth) from the college.
The amount you earn can't exceed your total Federal Work Study award. In addition, you will not be allowed to work more than 19 hours per week. When assigning work hours, the financial aid specialist will consider your class schedule and your academic progress.
