Ways to Give

The Coast Community College District Foundation welcomes gifts in many forms, making it easy for donors to support student success in a way that aligns with their philanthropic and financial goals. Like leading higher education foundations and nonprofit organizations, we accept outright gifts of cash, checks, credit and debit cards, electronic fund transfers, donor-advised fund grants, appreciated securities, employer matching gifts, qualified charitable distributions from IRAs, planned and estate gifts, gifts of real property, and other complex assets, subject to Foundation acceptance policies. We also welcome recurring monthly gifts and are committed to working with donors and their professional advisors to explore customized giving opportunities that create lasting impact. Every contribution, regardless of size or method, helps expand educational access, strengthen academic programs, and transform lives across our colleges and communities.

Now Is the Time to Invest in Student Success

A common misconception is that California Community Colleges are "free" for all students. While many students benefit from fee waivers, financial aid, and state-funded tuition assistance programs, the true cost of providing a high-quality education extends far beyond enrollment fees. Like colleges and universities across the nation, California Community Colleges are facing increasing financial pressures as federal and state budget reductions, coupled with rising inflation, continue to strain institutional resources. Escalating expenses for employee salaries and benefits, utilities, technology, infrastructure improvements, and the deferred maintenance of aging facilities have created significant funding challenges that cannot be addressed through public funding alone. To ensure long-term sustainability and continued student success, it is essential for community colleges to cultivate robust philanthropic giving programs, expand corporate sponsorships and partnerships, secure competitive grant funding, and diversify other revenue sources. These investments help bridge critical funding gaps, enhance educational opportunities, remove financial barriers, and ensure that all students have access to the education, training, and workforce readiness needed to thrive in an evolving economy.
