- Led Coast’s sponsorship of AB 1173 (2023), requiring high schools to provide community college outreach specialists the same access granted to CSU and UC representatives
- Supported AB 1805 (2024), requiring schools to teach the history of Mendez v. Westminster
- Guided Coastline College to become the first public institution in California to offer a Direct Assessment Competency-Based Education degree (Associate of Science in Management)
- Led Coast’s involvement in the Common Cloud Digital Platform demonstration project to improve statewide student data systems and support student success

- Recognized expert in the Orange County Latino/Hispanic community
- Founding member and co-architect of theOrange County Hispanic Education Endowment Fund (HEEF). This scholarship fund has provided over 4 million dollars in scholarships for Latino/Latino student residents in Orange County.
- In 1987, he created the first Hispanic Leadership Institute in Orange County under United Way of Orange County to serve on boards and commissions of nonprofits, state and county governments.
- 1993, he created the first Multi-Ethnic Leadership Institute in Orange County under United Way of Orange County to address the needs of a changing and diverse community to serve on boards and commissions of nonprofits, state and county governments.
- Co-Founder and served as Chair in 1989-1991 of theAssociation of Hispanic Professionals for Education (AHPE) that provided training and job opportunities for thousands of Hispanic college students with some of the top major corporations in Southern California.
