Faculty Funding Opportunity Grant

The Coast Community College District Foundation is committed to expanding opportunities for faculty and staff by supporting innovation, professional development, and educational excellence across the district. Through grants, training opportunities, research initiatives, and strategic partnerships, the Foundation invests in the district’s most valuable resource, "its people."

Foundation funding supports a wide range of faculty and staff development activities, including:

  • Research projects
  • Curriculum development
  • Professional growth and training
  • Continuing education
  • Technical and research consulting partnerships

The Coast Community College District Foundation Board of Directors proudly recognizes and supports the vital work of faculty through Opportunity Grants that fund innovative educational practices, student success initiatives, and professional development opportunities.

Recent grant-funded projects include:

  • Creating an Open Educational Resource Manual for Human Physiology – Deborah Henry, M.D.
  • Developing materials, blended/flipped approach to teaching Math 100 – Mansour Abdoli, Ph.D.
  • Developing a Wellness Workbook to expand the Student Wellness Program – Laura Behr
  • Creating a three-part Transfer Champion Workshop Series to equip faculty and staff with tools to better support transfer students – Michael Tran

Through these investments, the Foundation helps foster creativity, innovation, and excellence in teaching and learning!
