What if you become a victim?

If you become a victim of sexual assault and wish to report the crime:

  • Get to a safe place
  • Contact police by dialing 911
  • Do not shower, bathe, douche, change clothing
  • Do not straighten up the area
  • The police will assist you to seek medical attention
  • A rape crisis counselor will meet you at the hospital and will provide you with support and ongoing counseling

You did not choose to be a victim of sexual assault. But you can choose to be a survivor!
