​Award Year 2016-2017

Fall 2016

January 1            FAFSA is available for student/parent completion

                             It is highly recommended that students/parents do not complete the FAFSA until two weeks after the

                             electronic submission of their income taxes for 2015. When completing the FAFSA, use the IRS Data

                             Retrieval Tool to minimize the verification process.

March 2               Priority deadline for Cal Grant – FAFSA must be filed by this date and GPA submittal by your high school

                             must be completed.

May 1                   Board of Governors Fee Waiver Application opens for Summer 2016, Fall 2016, and Spring 2017

May 29                 Priority Processing date for student financial aid.

September 2      Community College Cal Grant Deadline. The District colleges will submit all enrolled students' GPA

                             verifications to CSAC.

November 4      Freeze date for enrollment status – changes will not be made up or down to enrollment status after this

                             date.

                             Note:  If you drop classes before this date, you may be required to return a portion or all of the financial aid

                             funds received for the Fall 2016 session. Prior to dropping any classes, consult with the financial aid office at

                             your campus.

November 4       Financial Aid Appeal Satisfactory Academic Progress Petitions will not be reviewed after this date.

December 2       Last day for Fall 2016 only loan requests.

 

Spring 2017

January 1            FAFSA is available for student/parent completion

 April 14              Freeze date for enrollment status – changes will not be made up or down to enrollment status after this

                             date.

                             Note:  If you drop classes before this date, you may be required to return a portion or all of the financial aid

                             funds received for the Fall 2016 session. Prior to dropping any classes, consult with the financial aid office at

                             your campus.

April 7                   Financial Aid Appeal Satisfactory Academic Progress Petitions will not be reviewed after this date.

                             Professional Judgment Petitions for Income Reduction and Dependency Status will not be reviewed after this

                             date for the 16-17 award year.

May 19                Last day for Spring 2017 only loan requests.

June 30                Last day for a valid FAFSA transmission to be received by the campus.

                             Last day to submit the Board of Governors Fee Waiver for the 2016-2017 award year.

July 14                  Last day to submit required documents for the 2016-2017 award year.

Summer 2017

July 22                 Freeze date for enrollment status – changes will not be made up or down to enrollment status after this

                              date.

                               Note:  If you drop classes before this date, you may be required to return a portion or all of the financial aid

                               funds received for the Summer 2015 session. Prior to dropping any classes, consult with the financial aid

                               office at your campus.

July 28                  Last day to submit a loan application for summer session only loans.
