The EOP/S office offers academic and personal counseling to make sure each student attains his or her goals. Through the EOP/S program, students gain priority registration status, which gives them the first pick of classes. Other services provided by the EOP/S program include bilingual assistance, financial assistance through the provision of book vouchers, grants and assistance with financial aid forms, transfer assistance by providing application seminars and fee waivers for UC, CSU and private universities, single parent services, cultural activities, campus referrals, student recognition, tutoring and community outreach.

To qualify, apply to either Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, Golden West College in Huntington Beach, or one of Coastline Community College's centers in Garden Grove, Fountain Valley or Costa Mesa. Each EOP/S office has a bilingual person ready to help, they are: Dora Cozad at Orange Coast College, (714) 432-6264; Joanne Hernandez at Coastline Community College, (714) 241-6427; and Hilda Friend at Golden West College, (714) 895-5101. Students must be 18 years of age or older, California residents for at least one year, enroll in a minimum of 12 units each semester, qualify as educationally disadvantaged (as determined by EOP/S office), have completed less than 70 college units and must qualify for the Board of Governors Grant Fee Waiver. Call the above numbers to find out if you qualify, and take the first step towards your educational dreams.

The Coast Community College District is the seventh largest community college district in the nation in credit enrollment, serving 55,000 students each semester. The District is comprised of Coastline Community College headquartered in Fountain Valley, Golden West College in Huntington Beach, Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, and KOCE-TV, the District's public broadcasting station.
