Sanchez
Named Coast Community College District Site Manager of
the Year
Jorge
R. Sanchez, administrative director of Educational Services
for the Coast Community College District, has been named
District-site Manager of the Year for 2003-04.
Sanchez, a Santa Ana resident, received the award from Chancellor Emeritus Bill
Vega at a luncheon hosted by the Coast Community College District Management
Association.

Sanchez
has been a member of the District staff for almost 20 years. Last
year, under his direction, the Education
Services department was
responsible for the management of federal and state grant funding
and planning and research for the District. Sanchez also serves as
the
coordinator of the career and technical education program. "I'm
so proud to be a part of the Coast District team," Sanchez said. “It
is an honor to be recognized by colleagues that share the same passion
for helping all students.”
Sanchez,
a graduate of Santa Ana College went on to earn several degrees including
a doctorate in Education from UCLA in 2000. Active
within his community, Sanchez
and his family are involved in school and church activities in Santa Ana.
The Coast Community College District is the seventh largest community
college district in the nation in credit enrollment, serving 55,000
students each semester. The
district is comprised of Coastline Community College headquartered in
Fountain Valley, Golden West College in Huntington Beach, Orange Coast
College in Costa Mesa, and KOCE-TV, the district’s public broadcasting
station.
