Coastline’s
Westminster Learning Center will feature state-of-the-art classrooms,
as well as a science lab,
art facilities, lectures halls,
computer rooms, vocational training facilities and counseling offices.
The
City of Westminster will be constructing a community cultural
center to be housed in the same complex as the Learning Center.
The
Westminster
Cultural Center will be home to a 419-seat theater and a banquet
and conference hall with an adjoining terrace.
"This
is an exciting opportunity for us to be able to work with the City
of Westminster
in a way that will benefit our students
and the
community,” says Dr. Ding-Jo Currie, president of Coastline
Community College. The
$9 million project will be funded by Measure C, a voter-approved
bond measure passed in November 2002.
Construction
is scheduled to begin this summer with an expected completion date
of fall 2005
for both projects.
The Coast Community College District is the seventh largest community
