COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES RECOGNIZES 219 EMPLOYEES FOR SERVICE
The year was 1967. It was the Summer of Love. Time magazine named Lyndon B. Johnson Man of Year. The Doors debuted their first album. And 10 employees honored last week for long-standing service started their careers at the Coast Community College District.

The District's Board of Trustees recognized 219 employees for long-standing service at a ceremony Wednesday night, including 10 employees who have worked for the District for 35 years.
"It is because of the employees in this District - faculty, staff and administrators - that Coast District students continue to receive a world-class education at an affordable price right here in their own backyard," Walter G. Howald, President of the Coast Community College District Board of Trustees, told a crowd gathered for the event. "It is an honor to recognize you all tonight."
Of the 219, 24 employees were recognized for five years of service, 68 were recognized for 10 years of service, 13 were recognized for 15 years of service, 19 for 20 years of service, 58 employees were recognized for 25 years of service, 23 for 30 years and 10 employees for 35 years.
The Coast Community College District employs 5,222 faculty, staff and administrators, and is among the top ten employers in all of Orange County.

The Coast Community College District is the seventh largest community college district in the nation in credit enrollment, serving nearly 60,000 students each semester. The district is comprised of Coastline Community College headquartered in Fountain Valley, Golden West College in Huntington Beach, Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, and KOCE-TV, the district's public broadcasting station.
