COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT
RECEIVES
STATE DIVERSITY AWARD
Coast Community College District is this year’s Southern California recipient of the
prestigious Chancellor’s Office for California Community Colleges Faculty and Staff Diversity
District Achievement Award. The award was presented
recently at the ninth
annual Board of Governor’s and California Community Colleges Conference.
The award is bestowed upon two community college districts that have demonstrated
outstanding achievements, leadership and innovations in the area of faculty and

award, commented, “Coast Community College
District’s affirmative action and diversity policies are a significant element to our success,
and have a broad effect beyond the classroom, reaching into our communities. The board
of trustees joins me in expressing heartfelt thanks for this recognition and
acknowledgement of our fine faculty and staff.”
Coast District shares the limelight with San Francisco Community College District, this
year’s Northern California award recipient.
The Coast Community
College District, the fifth largest community college district in the nation in
credit enrollment, comprises Coastline Community College headquartered in Fountain Valley, Golden West College and
KOCE-TV located in Huntington Beach,
and Orange Coast College located in Coast Mesa.
