Sprague Named District-Site
Employee of the Year
Nancy Sprague |
Nancy Sprague, the Executive Assistant to the Chancellor, was named Employee of the Year at the annual District Administrative Management Picnic on August 14. Sprague has been with the District for 14 years.
Interim Chancellor Dr. Ding-Jo Currie presented a crystal award to Sprague in appreciation of her hard work during Sprague’s transition to assisting an Interim Chancellor. Dr. Currie also praised Sprague’s high-quality work and said, “Nancy sets the standard that every employee at the District should follow. Assisting the Chancellor, she always has a full plate, but her work has always far-exceeded my high standards.”

“I’m shocked!” Sprague said to a standing ovation from co-workers and administrators. “I just think the District is a great place to work. I love working with all of you and I am so thankful for this.”
Despite the arduous tasks and long hours associated with her work, Sprague has a reputation for always being cheery and helpful. She is always the first to lend an ear to a confused caller or a lost student trying to find help. Sprague is so highly regarded that she was unanimously chosen as the Employee of the Year by the selection committee.
The other nominees for Employee of the Year were Cathy Mesenbrink, Jodi Rodriguez, Eucario Cruz, Kim Jesch and Paula Fullerton.
